Empowerment of rural & urban women is the Prime objective of Shree Datta Gramin, Akola. An awareness generation program aimed at making women aware from about their health needs, nutrition, sanitization, cleanliness , livelihood, SHG, DV act,  Dowry System , Education , Safety  Precaution , Women Enterprise Development, Women Counseling Center, Personality Development Center,   was organized in large number and it was felt by the attendant that this kind of program are very useful in the villages where women were aware of their health needs a very low.

     Further, they were informed about various kinds of schemes formed and executed by the different Govt.  Departments for the welfare of the women either it is education, employment or technical guidance, etc.

     Women self-governance through self-help groups (SHG) program was initiated to make the rural women socio-economically secure and politically empowered. Presently SHRI DATTA GRAMIN VA SHAHRI VIDYA PRASARAK MANDAL is having 260 number of SHGs. Members of different groups have been trained on the establishment of the Bakery Unit, Tamarind processing, turmeric powder processing, Leaf-plate stitching, tailoring, and appliqué sewing. Presently NTFP and vegetable growing activities are given priority. Three of our groups are now taking Kerosene dealership from the District Administration.

1. Swabhiman Mahila Sangha: 

SWABHIMAN a federation of 200 SHGs who are divided into 10 clusters in Patur, Balapur and Akola block. It has its own executive body selected by the cluster representatives and it is leading by the president and the secretary of the federation facilitated by the staff of SHREE DATTA GRAMIN VA SHAHRI VIDYA PRASARAK.

2. Aapadgrast Mahila Counselling: 

Center was started last 3 years. When the organization decided to work on women’s issues strategically it started organized regularly workshop on gender equity.  In this year cases are registered 42.  One time intervention 23 cases & 20 home visit, hospital visit, Court visit.

The counseling center is helping to violated women. To develop decision making, build confidence. This year was a Family court that supported the activity of childcare Center.
